Map of central Deal
Where to find the pier, the castle, the old town and the best places to eat and drink, all within about ten minutes' walk of the pier.
The illustrated map shows the road each numbered place is on, with its name. It is a simplified drawing: each pin sits at the place's real position, and the roads are drawn through the positions of addresses along them, so their shapes are approximate and minor junctions are left out. Choose Street map to see every road on OpenStreetMap. North is at the top.
On a small screen, swipe the map sideways to see the seafront and the pier.

Getting around on foot
Central Deal is compact and flat. From the pier it is about a six-minute walk south to the castle, and about five minutes west to the station. The old town, with Middle Street and the High Street, sits between the two, one street back from the seafront.
For a longer walk, follow the promenade south for about half a kilometre (a third of a mile) to the bandstand on Walmer Green, or about two kilometres (1.3 miles) to Walmer Castle and its gardens. To the north, the seafront leads, in about 1.7 km (1 mile), to the gardens on the site of Sandown Castle. See our guide to things to do and how to get to Deal.
